Description:

This is a three day seminar (Feb 14, 21, and 28, 2011) focused on doing business with the government, specifically Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB). This is three days packed with must know information for anyone considering entry into the government sector or new to doing business in the government sector.

Day One: February 14, 2011: “Know Your Customer – Learning WPAFB” You will learn about the agencies at WPAFB, what they buy and how you find out what they are buying. At the end of this series, if you are serious about starting or improving you business with Wright Patterson, you will know exactly what your next step needs to be to sell to the government. Day One will also include “The Strategic Plan and the Pipeline”. This is focused on helping you build your strategic plan and your pipeline. You will learn how big your pipeline should be and how you find leads. You will learn how you can make sound decisions on what leads become opportunities and what you need to do to position your company better in the market. The Strategic Plan and the Pipeline are the foundation of your business success; learn how to make the best of it.

Day Two: February 21, 2011; “Business Development and Capture”. This session is focused on the Business Development and Capture process. Learn when you should respond to an RFI or a Sources Sought and how you can influence the RFP. Techniques and strategies to build the best team to win will be covered. We will also discuss how you get your company on a winning team. Other topics in this session include: the importance of past performance and how to build your past performance by working on a team. You will learn what questions should you be asking the government, the competition, and internally. Day Guest Speaker:  TBD

Day Three:  February 28, 2011;   “The Proposal: How to Write a Winning One”.  This session is focused on what you need to do so you can write a winning proposal. Learn about processes you can use to improve your win rate. Learn what you need to know before the RFP comes out and if you don’t know it, should you still bid? You will learn about how to ghost the competition well before you ever start writing. Learn “Top 10 List of Ways To Win a Proposal” and the “Top 10 List of Ways to Lose a Proposal”.  Guest Speaker:  TBD
